Actress Amy Smart and Carter Oosterhouse‘s secret wedding is not a secret anymore. Amy Smart and HGTV’s hunkiest handyman, Carter Oosterhouse, are set to wed at sunset this Saturday, September 10. Oosterhouse is an eco-friendly builder who originally appeared on the TLC series, Trading Spaces.
Amy Smart was born March 26, 1976, in Topanga, California. She is a model-turned-actress who is best known for her appearances in the TV series Scrubs and Felicity and the films Road Trip and Starsky & Hutch. Amy began her career modeling in France, Italy and Tahiti. Her acting career took off when she landed supporting roles in the 1999 films Outside Providence and Varsity Blues. Amy had been dating actor Branden Williams for more than 15 years, broke up with him last year.
But now Amy Smart was completely beaming and couldn’t be happier. Amy Smart and Carter Oosterhouse are going to forego the spotlight of Hollywood and head to Oosterhouse’s hometown for the ceremony—Taverse City, Michigan. It will be a small wedding, with only 150 of the couple’s closest friends and family.
The Varsity Blues star, 35, is reported to wear an off-white and tiered wedding gown, but other than that, Amy wouldn’t dish any more details.
“I’m getting married very soon. The dress is all picked out”, Amy Smart said. “I’m not telling, I can’t even tell my fiancé. I can’t tell anyone else”. The only hint she’d give us: “It’s kind of right for where we’re getting married”.
The two got engaged back in April, after they met at a green-charity event in November. The two are both very eco-friendly. The news broke of their engagement when Amy started showing off the ring at a Body Shop Shower Challenge event on Earth Day hosted by Columbia University.
Since their engagement, Amy’s been spending a lot of time in Michigan.
“I’ve traveled a lot, I’ve been going back east to Northern Michigan where I have family and just having a great summer there”, she told us. “It’s so beautiful the lake, clear skies, and then being back here is great; I just love the summer. I love when its warm, I love soaking in the sun and drinking lots of water”.
And as the wedding ceremony is approaching, Oosterhouse has been nothing but helpful.
“Carter’s very hands-on. He has definitely been my co-pilot with this”.
